Litigation of International Disputes Status
Pending updates were completed November 2015. Based upon most recent practice they will be published approximately May 2016. Following the November submission the Supreme Court decided Sachs v. Austria. U.S. plaintiff suffered injury at an Austrian railway station. The Court unanimously held that the Austrian Railway enjoyed sovereign immunity from suit in the United States. Although the train ticket was purchased by a U.S. person from a U.S. website, the purchase of the ticket was not material to the accident itself.
